March Madness

The snow stopped. The sun is out, but it is still like zero degrees outside. Can you believe it???

I have to be very careful going out in this weather. Most of the time I stay inside.

But not when it's music therapy day. I love being with Bonnie.

Today we were playing the drums.

Mom, Where are we going?

You have got to be kidding me. The car wash. It's like freezing outside.

So when I woke up today, my mom asked me if I would like to go on a road trip. I said, "Sure." We stopped at Panera and got our traditional bagel and apple juice.

I was pretty excited that we followed The College of Wooster bus most of the way. That's where my sister-in-law Julie went to college. I have been there. It not too far from where we live and it's on the way to Columbus. That must be where we are going.

But then I got confused because I saw the Welcome to Pennsylvania sign. Hmm...

"What the heck?" I recognize that ketsup bottle. We must be in Pittsburgh!  And then I saw them. A bunch of little girls walking on the sidewalk wearing princess dresses.

Mom? What is going on?

"Surprise! We are going to Disney on Ice."  "Yes!!!!!!!" I shouted.

I always get so excited when Minnie & Mickie come out.

This show is called Princesses.  There are alot of them. Do you know who this is?

My mom's favorite is Ariel. She is a mermaid with ginger hair.

Hahaha...the wicked step sisters. They are so funny on ice. They fall down on purpose.

Oh Cinderella. I love her. I picked a blue dress just like her when I went to prom. I still have it hanging in my closet at Cutters Creek.

They are all here. That's what I really like about this show. All the Princesses in one place.

Oh there is one bad thing about coming to Pittsburgh. Steelers fans.

So you know what I did? I yelled, "Go Browns!"

I guess I fell asleep as soon as we pulled out of the parking garage.  The sun felt so good.

Haaa, I finally woke up. And we are home!

Look at this. I have my coat on my head so I don't have to carry it.

It's still early but I decided to go to bed. That was a long day. Plus I have to get up early again tomorrow.

I am at the doctor's office. I have not been here for a long time so I need a check up.

First, we have to fill out a bunch of forms. I always have to sign them.

Oops. My mom made a wrong turn. But look what we found. A new park. It has a nice walking path.

And a small creek.

The sun is out today and it is not too cold. I think I could be an advertisement for The North Face. What do you think?

Look at this. A nice fire pit with some wood already chopped.

So I started singing, Mr. sun sun, Mr. golden sun. Then my mom sang...Shinning down on me. That's and old Raffi song from when I was a little girl. I still remember it.

I really like this park. It is just my size. I hope we come back here again one day.

Wow, walking wears me out. My mom said I was snoring.  That's ok. I need my beauty rest for what's coming.

Today, I am going to be on Fox8.  This is Tony. He is a cameraman and this is Kristen. She is a producer. They are going to tell the story about our store and my pillowcase project. You can watch it by clicking here.

Later, my friends Sonia and Catherine came to see me. They wanted to hear all about it.

That was a big day. Time for some relaxing now.

Ahh...look at this picture of me and grandma. I love it. My grandma is being really brave. It's hard to have cancer.  She still takes really good care of me.

Grandpa was very excited to hear about the taping for the television show.  He was very happy for me.

Today is Friday and my missionary friends come to sew pillowcases with me.

This is Sister Heckert. She reminds me of my cousin Karen.

She left me a really sweet note.

It's Sunday and we have something special planned. First I had to sign this ticket.

Here we are! This is so exciting. I first started picking the fabrics out for this quilt over a year ago. Then our store had to move and we forgot about it. Then in October we started working on it again.  It turned out pretty good, so we decided to enter it into the quilt show at the Farm Park. And guess what?

It won a third place ribbon!!!

This is a nice quilt show. I see the fabric from our store in many of the quilts here.  Ok are you ready for this...

This place really is like a farm. With real cows.

And two babies. They were just born in January.

You will never believe what they named them...

Zig and Zag. Like the stitch on the sewing machine. You know zig zag. LOL!!!

OMG!!! MOM!!! Back me up this cow is coming at me. Hurry up!!

Oh that's better. A cow on a quilt. One of our customer's made this. She is so nice. Her name is Bonnie Gutman. It is really good.

Well it's time to go. I'm starting to have trouble breathing after being with those animals. But first I have something to do. I am taping this card to this sign. It's almost World Down Syndrome Day. And so we are doing some random acts of kindness.

Today, we are leaving a little money so someone can buy something in the gift shop. I hope a little kid finds it.

Back to the quilt shop we go. I am really busy packing up pillowcases today.

Tonight we are at Brush High School. It is the Prom Fashion Show. Here is my friend Ashley. She was in my Girl Scout troop. She has a jewelry business and is here selling it tonight.

"Hey Dad, Look Here is your name!" Everytime I come here I look for it. He was on the school board when they updated the auditorium, so his name is here forever. I like that.

Guess what? My dad went to high school here. And so did I. That makes us alumni.

Ok, Sit back. The show is about to begin. Here they are...the American Commodore dancers. Every year they are here. Dancing to rap. The girls scream.

And now here he little brother Matt. He is an escort tonight.

After the show he came down to see me. Oh my gosh. Will you look at this. Someone is photobombing our picture. Dad, knock it off.

Oh that's better. I love my little brother so much. He is a superstar!

So just about every Friday night, my mom & dad run errands. Tonight I went with them to BJ's. While we were there my mom asked me if I wanted to drive a wheelchair cart. I've never done it before, but I said sure. Look out. I almost ran my dad over. Then he was laughing so hard.

He was helping me learn to keep it straight.

And then off I went. It was fun.

Next we went to Target and guess what?  Yep...another cart to drive.

This is pretty cool. It's like drive up movies.

Time to pay. I had to be a little extra careful driving through the checkout, but I did good!

Next stop the movie theater. We waited until really late at night so there would not be so many people here, which means less germs. Looks like we are going to be the only ones. Do you wonder what we are going to see?

It's the new Cinderella movie. It was really good.

This is sorta weird. We are like the only people in this entire theater.

Today we have some important business. I am dropping off pillowcases to the Ronald McDonald House.

This one is sorta special. It is the one I was making when they filmed the tv show. I think a little boy is really going to like it.

Next stop is the Cleveland Garden Center. I have not been here for a really long time.

The flowers are very pretty. It is hot in here.

Look at this. I took my mom's picture in front of this stained glass art. It reminds us of Julie's engagement ring that TJ designed.  My mom said I am a good photographer.

Selfie! We love to do this now.

Time to for me to stay at Grandma & Grandpa's house.

Grandma is busy in the kitchen.

Today she made a really good fruit salad. Do you see those eggs? It is almost Easter.

Wow! Look at this. These are all pillowcases that we are taking to the homeless shelter. They do not want them wrapped in bags.

So we put them in boxes. There are so many the boxes have to sit next to me.

Last stop...Lake Erie. It is still really frozen out there. Hopefully it will warm up soon, so the ice will melt. See you next month.
