January 2016

Hello 2016!!

I am doing something really exciting!

I have to sign my name to this form because I am entering a quilt in the Lake Farm Park Quilt Show. It is due today.

I have been very busy packing up pillowcases. I put our card in each one so everyone knows this project is in memory of my friend Kristen.

Then I seal them up to keep them clean. This is a perfect thing to do in the winter.

Can you see me? It is like really late at night. I snuck back downstairs after my mom and dad went to bed. But my mom found me. She said, "Sarah, what in the world are you doing?"

Just a little Netflix mom.

And then I laughed and laughed and laughed.

The next morning I had to get up early to go to the quilt shop. Good thing because I had to entertain the little kiddos while I was there.

This is CeCe. She had to show me her new Lalaloosy Doll. This crazy girl poops buttons. Can you believe that?

We had a good time while her mom shopped. It is like working at a daycare center when the little kids come in.

My mom has been working a lot of late nights at the office. So she props up her ipad and I keep her company on facetime.

Sometimes she is so funny she makes me laugh. It is almost like being there with her.

Tonight we really are together. We are watching the newest episode of Born This Way. Christina and her mom were looking at a photo album of when she was a baby. I jumped up to get mine because it is the same one.

I love looking at pictures when I was little. I think I was so cute.

Today I am being nurse Sarah. My grandpa had cataract surgery so I stayed with him to take care of him.

Sometimes on Wednesday my mom comes over to help me take a shower. But today I decided maybe I would do it myself. First I had to aske her a question. Do you see it? I was texting her.

She said, "Yes" I could dunk my head first. So I showed her on facetime.

She said I was silly. Man I love this Facetime. I am so glad my mom finally got an ipad. Now I can talk to her no matter where she is.

Surprise! Today is my Grandpa's birthday. So we went out to dinner at Bob Evans. He had salmon. I had chicken fingers.

Do you remember that form I was signing. Today is the day I have to drop the quilt off. I am a little bit nervous about leaving it.

But the lady told me she would take very good care of it. She is getting all of the information ready.

I have another form to sign. This one gives the Farm Park permission to hang my quilt.

The lady said I was doing a very good job.

There it is. My signature granting permission to hang my quilt. It is called "Bright Lights, Big City."

Now she is telling me all about the day I get to come see it.

There is even going to be food. So I had to sign another form to let them know I will be coming.

Well that pretty exciting. I never knew I would have a quilt in a show before.

I used to come to this Farm Park all of the time when I was little. The Upside of Downs used to have picnics here. That is in the summer though. Today it is freezing cold.

I do not like these days so much. My brother is about to go back to college.

I miss him so much when he is gone. He is my favorite little brother.

My dad is taking him because I am going somewhere very exciting tonight with my mom. I was a little nervous when I saw it snowing. But I know she loves to drive in snow so she said, "Of course we are still going."

Here we are. We are so close to the ice I had a special escort down here.

Do you know where I am?

I am so happy the popcorn man just came over. I love popcorn when I come here. Ok the show is about to begin...

It's Mickey & Minie!! I am at Disney on Ice.

Oh my gosh we are so close I can see Pinochhio's nose growing. It does that when he tells a lie. My dad always tell us kiddos to never lie. That's why!

Oh this is my mom's favorite. She loves Finding Nemo.

Roar! It's Beast!!

And now he's the handsome prince. I sure hope he does not drop Beauty because if he does she will be in my lap.

Haa it is Aladin. Where is his monkey?

Oh how romantic. It's Snow White and she is awake.

I love Disney on Ice so much. I think these are the best seats we have ever had.

I knew it. They added Frozen to the show this year.

Oh my goodness. These curtains magically came out of the ceiling.

LOL!! It is Olaf.

He came skating so fast at me he sprayed my boots with ice.

Anna and Elsa. They let their differences go so they are happy now. I really like that.

It is intermission. I can't wait for the second half to start.

Oh it was so beautiful. Lion King. These two skaters were AMAZING!

That's it. They brought my wheelchair right to me and now they are taking me out the special tunnel. This is where LeBron comes in.

And look here he is. Well not him really. Just his picture on the elevator.

It is starting to get pretty bad out, That is Terminal Tower all lit up in blue tonight.

My mom always turns down Euclid Avenue. She likes to go past her old office.

And that way we can also see the chandlier. It has made Cleveland really shine. Tonight we can hardly see it though because it is really snowing.

It is Wednesday and I am back to the Quilt Shop.   I am consulting with a customer. She wants me to help her pick a color for her quilt border.

Haa it is Catherine. She is my friend too.

Guess what. We were talking about Disney on Ice. She went with her husband. He is a cameraman for Fox 8.

I have to get back to work. I am sewing pillowcases today. Plus I am watching TV. I am lucky like that.

Oh I have to show you something. Do you see this magazine? It is the February issue of American Patchwork & Quilting. And guess what?

Surprise!!

There we are. Bottom left.

Those are my friends who come to help me sew pillowcases for the One Million Pillowcase Challenge. We give them to the sick kiddos in the hospital in memory of my friend Kriston Kirton.

My mom and I want to say Thank you! Don't we look like twins. We have matching sweaters.

It was a fun day in the quilt shop.

My dad turned the lights off. That means it is time to go home.

It's a new day. Today I am working on another quilt.

Time for a quick break. This is very exciting. I am a member of our local Chamber of Commerce and my new certificate came in the mail today.

Back to sewing I go.

I am taking out pins and cutting the blocks apart.

I finished another top today. I have a goal this year to make two tops every week.

Here are two...

And here are two more. So far so good.

My chauffer has arrived. Grandpa comes to pick me up on Monday and he takes me to music therapy. I love that.

Oh I hate this part of winter. I am having so much trouble breathing tonight.

Good morning! I feel so much better. Ok see you later alligator. Next month.
