April 2016

Hello April.

How do you like our new shirts? We really ordered them for our first Ohio State game this fall but we decided to wear them today while we are working on these sports quilts. 3.21 is for World Down syndrome day. You can order them too.

They come in many different colors and styles. Just click here. Bethany has some for World Autism Day too.

Ok. I have to get back to work.  I just decided to listen to some music at the same time.

It helps me relax while I am sewing.

I have to be careful when I am using the scissors. No chair dancing allowed.

This quilt is a good one. It has lots of sport stuff on it. This shirt is really good too. The words are perfect.

I love this. That's my mom's bracelet on the O. She's silly.

You have got to be kidding me. It is snowing. In April.

And now look. I am having trouble breathing. Good thing I keep an extra breathing machine in my sewcial lounge.

My mom was a little worried about me, so my dad came to pick me up and take me home. He's the best!

I have something very important to do. I am going to quilt market in Salt Lake City.

So I have to fill out this application to let them know that I can buy fabric.

My mom and little brother went on vacation to California. Now we have matching hoodies. I love Matty so much.

Oh my this is horrid. My brother has to drive on the freeway. I am afraid for him. Happy April.

My mom woke me up so early today. She said we had to get our registration completed for the National Down syndrome convention in Orlando. I am going to have a self advocate table there for my quilting business.

That means I really have to get sewing so I have lots of quilts to take with me.

Ahh look at this cute little notebook that came in the mail for me. It has my name printed on it.

It will be perfect for me to take inventory.

Did you think I meant inventory of my quilts? Sorry I meant my You Tube videos.

Ok back to sewing I go.

Look how nice this is. One of our customers brought my mom this book. We have the best customers.

All done with two quilt tops. Good thing because it is Friday and I do not like to leave without having my design wall cleared off.

Oh happy sunshine. My friends are back. My parents are getting a little tired of the all the deer in our back yard. They are taking over.

One of my little friends has to go to the hospital and she wanted one of my quilts to go with her. This is the one they picked.

So I am getting it all packed up.

And ready to ship.

I have a special sticker that has to go on the box. Then my mom takes it down to the post office and I stay at the quilt shop.

My mom is the best. She came back with a chocolate chip cookie for me. Thank you mama.

Can you guess what I am doing?

I have been saving these scraps all year long just waiting for spring.

I spread them around the yard and then birds pick them up and weave them into their nests.

Then they have pretty nests for the baby birdies.

I am outside waiting for Grandpa.

Here he is. It is Monday so he is taking me to music therapy.

Oh this is good. Really, really good. Do you know what I am doing?

I am moving all of my VHS tapes over to my bedroom at Grandpa's house.

I am getting them organized so I can watch them all.

It's date night. Just me and the guys. We are going to the movies.

To see Jungle Book. I really liked it.

Look at this. I asked my mom if I could have a new television. She said no. So I asked Grandpa. He said sure Sarah. And then he moved a new tv into my room with all the cable equipment.

It was in the sun room where my grandma watched it but she died. I miss her.

My mom is back at work late. So I am sending her a facetime.

Hi Mom. Mom Ok? I see her. Hi Sarah she said.

Good morning! Look who is here. It is Moda Mark. He is coming to sell me some new fabric.

Sometimes he is funny and makes me laugh.

I get to pick the ones I want in the store. I like this one.

Before he leaves, he gives me some free sample Charm packs. He knows I like to sew with them.

It is still pretty cold out here. I want it to be spring.

Do you like out front window for April? It is from a fabric collection called Fresh Cut by Basic Grey for Moda.

I have one last thing to show you before I go. This new book came in. It is really nice. It is called Reasons to Smile. You can read more about it by clicking here.

Were these quilt offcut/scraps? [they looked very Easterly].

Love the Los Angeles T-shirts/hoodies Matty bought you. And Bethany's project with the T-shirts.

Yes, snow in April in Ohio is probably a bit wild. Even in the Rocky Mountains.

Your Mum's gift book about "Words of God" is great.

How you finagled a TV from Grandpa ... he really is up with the technology and innovation! And he loves to make his grandkids and himself happy. I know you will share it with him.

I'd also like to talk about the Jungle Book which I saw at the end of March with my Tante.

It was a wonderful world. I really loved Baloo, Mowgli, the red flower and the rock climbing and how the wolves stuck together. And Kaa the snake and the scene with the primates.

Was that Pocahontas on the screen with John Smith? Or it looks a bit like Phoebus in THE HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME.

[Disney men do seem all of a piece especially in the 1990s].

And of course REASONS TO SMILE. A worthy piece of crowdfunding.

That is one good VHS/entertainment cupboard.
