A Week in the Life of Me

May 20 -26, 2012

My week started at the hair salon.

Hello up there.  Uh mom, "Why are you standing over my head?

Ok sure. Let me put up the bridge. LOL!!!!

Oh. My. Gawd.  I HATE this part.  Oh the price of beauty.

OUCH !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok that is MUCH better.

Just a little trim Marci.  I mean it.

Ok. Getting the bangs cut. I am not so crazy about this. Marci keeps telling me to look up but I never do.

Before...

...After.  Do you notice anything different?  Besides my haircut.

I'm off to see Mr. Happy and Erica. They are showing me their iPad. I am thinking about getting one.

This is pretty cool.  Stuart is a good teacher. He showed me stuff to do.

Haaaaa.  We had to stop the car so these crazy ducks could walk across the road.  I was quacking at them but they would not move any faster than slow.

It has been a long day, so we stopped to get a wrap.  It is very good.

Then we went to BJs.  I LOVE this chair cart.  My mom told me next time she is going to bring a tiara for me to wear because I think I am a queenie in her carriage when I ride it.

Oh my gosh. We shopped until we dropped:)

The boys are in Columbus again.  So it is just us girls.  We decided to get into our pjs and have a slumber party.

This is so much fun.  We are going to bed early because I have a doctors appointment in the morning.

Sitting in the waiting room.  Waiting.

I did it all by myself!!!  My mom never came in with me for the shot, the blood draw or the peeing in the cup. I did it.  And I told everyone about it.

We finally got the call that we were going to be on television.  Hey Kristi Capel. I'm waving to you.

OMG.  There I am. Well not really me. That is a picture of me.

I am so excited.

There's my friend Kristen.  I am so happy she is in the story.  I miss Kristen.

And look. My friend Stacy too.

"Nice job," my mom said to me.  High five girlfriend.

Look at this. Our signs are up.  My mom forgot to tell me. When I saw it I said, "Damn, that looks good."  My mom said, "Sarah," in her stern voice.  "What did you just say?" So I said it again, "Damn, that looks good."  She just shook her head.  And then she took my picture.

While my mom was upstairs, I decided to take a picture of myself.  How do you like it?

After work, I had to go pick up my medicine.  It is just more albuterol for my nebulizer. It is a bad spring for my asthma.  That's all for now.  See you next week...

A Week in the Life of Me

May 13-19, 2012

Sunday was Mother's Day.  I was waiting so patiently for my mom to get into the shower.  Once she did, I jumped into action...

I had to get the giant cookie and Panera card I had been hiding all set up in the kitchen.  I was waiting for her when she came down.  She was so surprised.  She loved it!! Then my dad told her about while we were in line to pay for the cookie I spotted the "credit cards" and loudly told him we needed to get her one for Panera so she could buy coffee and a cinnamon roll.  She loves them.

I have not been feeling so good.  I have been having a lot of trouble breathing.  So my little brother drove to the grocery store and bought me my favorite snacks.  That made me feel better.

Finally on Friday, I went back to work.  I was just waiting for something to do.  So my mom asked me to go down to the store and she had some labeling that I needed to do.  That was a good idea because it was a little stressful upstairs. The internet connection went down and my dad and his workers were not able to get their job done.  It had been out for two days.

While I was labeling, we had lots of customers in the store.  I knew I did not feel good, but I did not know I was going to go into a bad episode.  My mom had to come over to me and help me breath because I had fainted on the counter. My airway was closing up.  I heard her say to one of the customer's that she was going to need to take me home.  But then all of a sudden my dad came downstairs.  He said he got everything working again with the internet and he could take me home to start my extra medicine.  We got home just in time.  After a little bit I was breathing better.

Then my cell phone rang.  It was my mom.  She told me there was someone in the store that wanted to talk to me...

This is Elise. Isn't she so cute!!!  I think she looks like a mini me:)  We talked on the phone for a long time.  I hope I can meet Elise one day soon.

I was sorta bummed because I was suppose to go to the ice skating show with Matt to watch Jessica (that's his girlfriend) skate.  But that would not have been such a good idea. My mom went and I stayed home with my dad. When she came home she was happy to see me in the big black chair with my laptop.

She wanted to know what I was doing.  So I showed her.  I was watching Hawaii 5-0. That is one of my new favorite shows.  Then I told her I was going to have dinner with TJ the next day.  She told me no, maybe next week.  I said yes. She said she did not think so, that we could talk to TJ next week and maybe then.  So you know what I did?  I called TJ on his cell phone.

"Teej, Mom said NO. She said I can't come to dinner."  Then I heard her come into the room.  She asked me who I was talking to at 11:30 at night.  I told her to be quiet.  "Teej mom said NO, but I am coming."  Then my mom took my phone and said, "TJ. Do you think Sarah is coming to dinner tomorrow?"  Hahahaha. He said, "Yes!!"

So on Saturday, my mom drove me to his apartment.  I told her to get off the elevator on 1.  She pressed 2 and we got off.  We were on the wrong floor.  I knew it.  When we finally got to the right apartment, my mom told TJ that she better start listening to me because I always know what I am talking about and she doesn't!!

Then I went into another bad breathing spell. I was ready though. I had my puffer with me. TJ was really impressed that I knew what to do all by myself.  Julie made dinner. It was really good.  Then we all watched the Indians game and a little bit of Disney.

Much later my mom came to pick me up.  TJ and Julie walked with me out to the car.

They said I could come again soon.  I really love them.  I have to go home and get to bed because in the morning I am getting my hair cut...

A Week in the Life of Me

May 6 - May 12, 2012

It was a very big day in our quilt shop.  A famous New York Times bestselling author came to visit us.

This is Marie Bostwick. She is so nice.  She writes books about a quilt shop.

She just had a new book come out called Ties That Bind, so she came to our shop to sign her book for our customers.

While she was signing in the front, I was helping customers in the back of the store.

Marie brought me a little goodie bag.  That was so sweet.

Even Katrina came in to help.  She took a vacation day from the hospital. I love her.  She is my friend.

Look at this.  Marie, Stacy's grandma and me.  My mom really likes how now that Lisa and Stacy have moved away, their Grandma comes in to check on me.

Next we took Marie out to Chagrin Falls where the quilt guild was having a community sewing day.

On our way back to the store, we stopped at the Barnes & Noble bookstore.  Marie goes in to sign all the books on the shelf that she wrote.

She introduced me as her friend. I really liked that.  Do you know she has a character in this book named Howard.  He has Down syndrome just like me.  She is spinning a new book off of this character, so she wanted to spend extra time with us to learn more about Down syndrome.

So we went to linner. Haaa, do you know what that is?  It is a combo of lunch and dinner.  We missed lunch and it was 3:30 so it was almost dinner.  My mom and Marie talked alot while I was eating my burger. It was the best, but that is because we are at Michael Symon's B-Spot Burgers.  He is the Iron Chef and his burgers have been voted the best in America three years in a row!!

Sadly it was time for Marie to leave.  She is on her way to Buffalo. My mom discovered that there is going to be alot in this next book that sounds so much like our story.  I can't wait for it to come out. I really like Marie. I hope I get to meet her again one day.

Do you want to know what I did the rest of the week?  I was in bed with an asthma episode.  My dad even took a day off work to stay home with me.  Today I am feeling much better.  See ya next week.

A Week in the Life of Me

April 29 - May 5, 2012

I am shoppng. Well, how do I look?

Can you guess where I am?

Look at this. I am getting the princess treatment.  This man is waiting for me with an umbrella. I think I like this Santa Fe. "I'll take it," I tell him.

My dad is so happy.  He can't believe the deal I just made to buy this new car.  His car is so old it is falling apart and it won't even go into drive anymore.

I decided maybe my mom should get a new one too. I think she will like this one. It is the Elantra Touring. She said maybe next month.

This is Chris Donato at Rick Case Hyundai on Villaview Road in Euclid.  He is a nice guy. You should go see him if you want a new car.

I went home with my mom. We had to go pick Matt up at his girlfriends house.

He wanted to go to the big parking lot and drive a little bit. It is raining and he wants the experience of driving in the rain. I watched him from the back seat and decided it did not look too hard. So I said, "I want to drive." My mom said, "Now?" I said, "Yes."

The first thing I did when I got behind the wheel is adjust the mirror.  Then I moved the seat up close so I could reach the pedal.

I got my feel of things. Not so bad I decided.

And then I pushed the gas pedal all the way to the floor.

This is a picture of my mom...moving REALLY quick. She was a little freaked out I think.  Good thing the car was still in park she said.  Hmm...maybe that was not such a good idea.  My little brother told me he is going to get his license soon and he will drive me wherever I need to go just like TJ used to.

My dad was waiting for me when we got home.  We went for a walk in the rain. I liked that.

The next day at the store, I decided to take a nap in my new chair.

I stayed there just like this even when customers came in.  They thought I was sleeping but I could still hear the talk.

The week ended with the perfect day for a soccer game.

It was so warm I decided to wear my Adidas flippers.

Hmm...maybe that was not such a good idea either. It is a little hard to come down the steps in these things.

I had to get down quick though to see my baby brother.  His team won and I was so proud of him because he scored a goal.
