A Week in the Life of Me

March 25 - 31, 2012

I started the week at Fast Signs.

We are just about to have a grand re-opening of my Sewcial Lounge. So we are going to try to get a big sign made for out front.

It has to go through the sign review committee in our city.  I hope they like it.  If not, we will have to redesign it.

That night, we went to speak to a quilt guild.  We always take a display with us to give an idea of what we sell in our store.

I was waiting patiently for the meeting to start.  My mom talked for a little while.  She told them about how I started receiving infant stimulation when I was just five weeks old in the building right down the street.  Then we talk about Kristen.  We tell about our pillowcase connection and how she helped us start our store.  Then we pass around the magazine that printed our story. Kristen's light is always shinning bright.

After the meeting part, we sell whatever we bring with us. I make sure to give everyone a card to let them know where we are located, so they can some visit our shop.

After we have everything packed up, my mom and I go out to dinner.  Can you guess where we picked to eat?

Maybe this will give you a clue. I love playing this game.

We went to Cracker Barrel. After we eat, I get to go out to pay.

On Friday, I had to go upstairs to do the shredding for my dad's office.  Sari is in Israel all week with her group of friends.

I don't mind shredding. I just have to be careful to not get my fingers to close.

Tonight, I have been watching Glee with my little brother and his girlfriend.  They have been sister sitting because my mom and dad went out to dinner.  I bet you are wondering why I have this scarf on my face.  Because a skunk sprayed outside and it smells so bad I can't breath. So I came up with this idea.  Ok see ya next week.

A Week in the Life of Me

March 18 ~ 24, 2012

It's been like spring this week in Cleveland. I started wearing capri's already it has been so warm.

And that's when I decided I needed to go shopping.  Do you notice I mostly wear solid color knit shirts?

My mom suggested I think outside the box and try something different.  So how do you like this silk jacket and shinny top?

Then we went to Just a Buck.  I was so surprised to see my friend Whitney working the cash register. I have not seen her for a while.

She asked me if I would like to donate a dollar to Harvest for Hunger. I said yes. I used to work at the Food Bank. So I wrote my name on the form.

I spotted a McDonald's across the street. I asked to go there.  This is the second one we have been to today. The first one was out of apple juice and chocolate chip cookies. So you know what I did?  I yelled, "That's bullsh*t." My mom was shocked.  But my speech was perfect:)

Going for a ride with my dad and Matt and Jessica.  This is a rental car. We need a new car.

When we got out I noticed this license plate. I could not believe my dad went all the way to Dayton in this car. We do not like Michigan so much.

Today I went to Roly Poly. I finally got to meet Betty.  She has a granddaughter with Down syndrome. So she has been following our story at the quilt shop.

Next we went to the camera store to buy a new camera.  Instead we bought new batteries because I had to get to music therapy.

After music we went to Dillard's. While we were there two ladies kept following us around. It was getting a little weird. So my mom and I started going up and down the escalator to try to loose them.  They found us again. Finally, the one lady came over and apologized to my mom and told us she just had a granddaughter born with Down syndrome and she and her mom were enjoying watching me and my mom have so much fun.

Look who came to visit me in the store this week.  My little brother Matt.

Today, I am putting labels on new patterns we got in. I am the master of labeling.

Next, I am dropping little shells into this jar.  It reminds me alot of what I used to do in therapy when I was little.

This time it is for a display in the store.  This fabric is called Salt Air.  It has a beach theme.

OMG!! It must be brother week in the store. Look who's here. My big brother TJ.

It's time to take the money to the bank.  I usually go in myself. The guard greets me at the door.

Next, I get change for the store. I go to two different tellers because they fight over me.  They love me that much.

I know this is going to seem weird. Especially because I own two ipods. But I need to buy a cd player. Mine broke and I still like to listen to some old cds I have.

Wow!!! another friend working. This is Brittany.  We went to CEVEC together. I like having friends to see.

Look at this. I bought a whole cart of things at Target and did not have to spend one cent. I had gift cards to spend thanks to Grandma & Grandpa and Julie.  I got the second season of Glee on Dvd. That's what I will be doing tonight.

A Week in the Life of Me

I thought I would start a new segment and show you some of the things I do in the week.

March 11 ~ 17, 2012

I unpacked some fabric. This was sorta weird because it came to us in a big plastic bag instead of a box.

Next we went looking for a new chair for the store.  I liked this one, but I said, "Mom it is pink. I hate pink."

So next I tried this blue one. I didn't like it as much.  Do you know why we are at Berg's Baby & Teen store? Because me feet touch the floor when I sit in these chairs. And they swivel and rock. I like that.

Then I tried this one. It was ok. I really liked the pink chair best. But it is Pink. I told the sales lady I hate pink.  Guess what?  She brought me a whole bunch of fabrics I could choose from.

On Wednesday, Sari and I got to eat our lunch together. We like to do that.

Today the store is very busy. I have been helping to entertain the little kids.

This is Remy. Her mom made this cute dress out of fabric I picked out for us to buy for the store.

I just knew the day I saw this fabric we had to buy it.  Oh this is Kurt behind me.  He is so nice. He comes to our store with a suitcase full of Michael Miller fabric

Next I took Parker upstairs to watch a video with me.  We watched Air Bud.  He is so cute.  My mom told me I turned Sarah's Sewcial Lounge into Sarah's Sitting Service today. I liked that.

Later in the day, I had some work to do on my computer.  First, I had to catch up on blog reading.

After the store closed my mom had some work to do, so what's a sunny Saturday without a little nap:)

Wow!! Look at this St. Patty's day dinner.  The box from Pizza Hut.  For ten bucks!! Now that's a lot of pizza dough:)

Oh but it is so yummy.  It's girls night tonight.  No boys.  We were going to go out, but my mom decided it was a little safer staying home.  Next we are going to have a Glee season one marathon. I just bought the set with my Target cards.  Ok see ya next week.

Grandma Walks the Red Carpet

My mom told me my Grandma was going to be winning an award. So we were going to drive to Canton to have dinner.

Hey Grandma, Surprise!!!

I think Grandma was pretty happy to see me.  Is this picture blurry to you?  Me too.

I knew there was going to be another surprise.  So I had my Grandma sit right here.

Look who's here. It's TJ, my big brother.

And then came Matt, my little brother.

One more hug.  Julie came too.  That's TJ's girlfriend.

Then Grandma saw another surprise.

Matt's friend Jessica came too.  Oh boy, it looks like she is getting a story about Matt from when he was little.

I had to get up to give Grandpa a hug. I have not seen him for awhile.

Finally it is time to go into the ballroom to eat dinner.  I am sitting next to Grandma because I have to help her up to the stage when it is time.

Say Cheese. Matt and Jessica.

Smile:) TJ and Julie.

We are at table 10.  Hey Matt, eat your own food. OK it is time for a speaker.  Her name is Rachel Simon.  She is talking about her book Beautiful Girl.  It is a little bit scary.

And now, just what we have been waiting for...

Wow, that was fun. Grandma did a really good job with her speech.  Haaa, I even got to say, "Thank you."  Just like at the big award shows on tv.

Even my dad was here, whoa is he blurry though.  My mom is not happy about this camera. I think we will be going shopping soon for a new one.

Oh this is pretty good. Grandma with her grandchildren.  Is it just me or is my little brother taller than my big brother.  How did that happen?

And now we added the ladyfriends.  Good one Grandma, I like that.  My mom told me that Alex could come. He could be my gentlemen friend. He would like that. Not me though. I don't want a boyfriend.

Well it is about time to head back to Cleveland. Hugs goodbye for Matt. He came down in another car. It took three cars to get us all here on time.

Here is my Grandma with her award from The Arc of Stark County.  It is really nice.  It is the Betty Ebert Award which is given to those who make a lifelong contribution to the Arc.  We are really proud of Grandma.

Before we left, we got to meet Rachel Simon

She was very nice. We are the same height.

I told her a little about our store.  And that we have a bus stop right in front of it, but I never ride the bus.  Maybe I should try it one day.
